Our popular Board & Train camps have been a hot-ticket items since even before The Art of Dogs' inception back in 2018.
We started off by offering this program while working for other training companies who had clients that wanted more personalized care for their dogs. We have since developed a unique blend of components to prioritize comfort, progress, owner involvement, and personalization in our programs that is unrivaled in the dog training industry.

Why choose a B&T camp?
These programs are a good choice for those busy individuals who just might not be able to find the time required to dedicate to their dog's training, or for those who have challenges which require special attention. We do a majority of the legwork in the initial training phase during this program. We provide regular interactive updates and lessons where we teach you how to continue to set your dog up for success together moving forward, as well as continued follow-up support after your dog returns back home with you.
How long should a camp be?
Our training camps range from two weeks to over a month long, with the length of stay being largely dependent on your goals and your dog's previous training. All of our board and train programs are tailored specifically to you, your dog, and your lifestyle together.
While we do have general outlines of goals that are covered in a program, it is important to note that we customize the needs of each camp, as each dog we work with comes with his or her own unique history and is striving for his or her individual goal(s). Our programs listed below are guidelines detailing common goals and their associated length of stay.

Where will my dog be?
During a Board and Train program with The Art of Dogs, your puppy or dog lives with one of our trainers in their home during the duration of your dog's program, so that he/she has utmost consistency and comfort in a relevant, real-life environment of the home. This allows for the most practical, realistic interactions to take place in everyday situations where your dog needs to have many repetitions towards proper behavior and manners. We have our indoor facility to utilize during inclement weather and the early days of a dog's program before we are ready to add in too many distractions, as well as regular trips around town, walking paths, hiking trails, and dog-friendly local businesses to take their training out to the real world.
PUPPY CAMP
Early experiences in puppyhood can have lasting effects on a dog's life. Get your puppy off to the right start with our two week puppy camp! During your puppy's stay, we will go over a wide range of enriching activities to ensure your puppy gets all of the proper exposure, handling, and socialization he or she requires as well as a jump start on his or her obedience training, home manners, house training and more, in a fun engaging way. Puppy Camps are generally for puppies under five months old, and last two weeks long.
GENERAL OBEDIENCE
The goals of the basic obedience programs are to cover all of the basic and lifestyle manners and behaviors to get your dog to be the well behaved, loving companion that you can take with you anywhere. Examples of behaviors we can cover with this program are sit, down, stay, place-bed, leash walking, introduction to coming when called as well as all of the manners we would expect any well respected canine companion to have: no jumping, mouthing, counter surfing, nuisance barking and leash pulling in addition to any other mild challenges you may be facing. This 3-4 week program is ideal for those who's goals are to have a polite dog when guests come over and take their dogs to coffee shops, breweries, hiking, family gatherings, etc.
ADVANCED OBEDIENCE & More
If you're searching for that added sense of security and the ability to give your dog more opportunities, this is the program for you. Our advanced programs are designed for those looking to give their dog ultimate freedom by having a clear and reliable communication system in place. We will teach and progress all of the behaviors in our basic program, while advancing them to off-leash behaviors around high level, real-world distractions. Our advanced obedience board & train is also the option for those struggling with more intensive behavior problems such as any type of aggression concerns or serious phobia or anxiety. Many of our advanced obedience programs require professional grade remote collars. We do also offer this package for sport dog foundation programs. Contact us to get more information!
