With over 10 years experience as a professional dog trainer, Haylie Gernert-Dott is passionate about canine behavior. From her early days of working with her Wheaten Terrier to her more current endeavors in dog sports, Haylie has always been interested in how to cultivate the best life for the dogs around her.
An alumna of the University of Vermont, Haylie has used her degree in animal science and canine behavior to help people understand that the key to good dog training is relationship building. Her extensive experience includes working with dogs from varying different backgrounds, including acting as the Canine Behavior Specialist and lead trainer at the local Humane Society.
Anneliese and Haylie met in 2021 when Haylie came out to a Mondioring dog sport event with our other trainer, Rachael. After having witnessed Haylie's skills in troubleshooting various dog training challenges, her compassion for and connection with these incredible creatures, and entrusting her with caring for our own dogs- it was with great excitement that we were able to add Haylie to our team!
Haylie lives with her partner Luke, his Labrador, her two Border Collies, and her Belgian Malinois. When she isn’t training dogs Haylie enjoys trail running with her dogs all over New England. With her own dogs, Haylie trains and competes in agility, Mondioring, nose work, and Search & Rescue.
